In this online course, you will learn the skills necessary to configure security on the PI Data Archive using OSIsoft best practices. Specifically, you will learn how to create new PI Identities and assign them custom permissions on different areas of the PI Data Archive corresponding to the security needs of your users. Through hands-on exercises and course videos, you will practice how to tighten down your PI Data Archive security model to allow the minimum permissions needed for users and applications. A guided final project will help to reinforce concepts and skills covered in the video lectures.
Note: Learners are encouraged to use their own development PI System. This allows each learner to leave the course with something immediately valuable in their enterprise. We do not recommend practicing security in a production environment.
