About this course

This course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of PI Vision. This course is split into 8 lessons that walk through a full use-case using PI Vision, where you will learn about built-in features along the way. The material is self-paced for your convenience. Thus, there are no live components to the course, nor are there required login hours. Please use the video lectures for instruction along with the course exercises to gain hands-on experience working with key concepts.

There are multiple hands-on knowledge checks tailored to apply the knowledge you've learned in the video lectures. 

Once you register for a course, you will have access to the course materials 24/7 on this website.

This is a self-paced course. Any questions or assistance needed about the material can be asked in this course's space in the PI Square community.

By the end of this Course you’ll be able to…

  • Understand how to search for important Events, PI Tags, and AF Elements and Attributes using the PI Vision Search Pane
  • Familiarization with all key features available in PI Vision 2022
  • Understand the importance and use of each of the eight main symbols. Understand how they can be used to work together in order to display data quickly, easily, and efficiently
  • Utilize templates in AF to create one display that may be reused with many different assets
  • Be able to perform simple PI Vision Administrator tasks

  • Business users who require high-level visibility into production and operations
  • Users new to the PI System
  • Anyone considering PI Vision as a PI System visualization tool, or considering an upgrade from PI ProcessBook or PI WebParts.

Prerequisites

Course Access: Unlimited access to all content except the Training Cloud Environment (TCE).  You have 30 days access to the TCE starting on the day you access module section "Launch Cloud Environment". 

After those 30 days you can purchase additional access with one of the two options below:

Software Requirements

The course will walk through a particular use case and will use a few files stored on a Training Cloud Environment. However, learners are encouraged to adapt the exercises and use their own software and data structures as they see fit. This allows each learner to immediately leave the course with something valuable to their enterprise. In order to complete the exercises, you will need the following software:
