PI System Administration is for those tasked with configuring and maintaining the PI System

Who Should Take This Class

  • People with responsibilities to maintaining the uptime of the PI System.
  • New Administrators that need to know how to configure the PI System.
  • Those who need to know what the data pipes look like for the PI System.
  • People who need to know the best practices for troubleshooting, security, and backing up the PI System.

What will you learn?

  • Understand/Diagram data flow through the PI and AF Servers.
  • Configure a basic PI Interface with its accompanying PI Tags.
  • Optimize your data flow.
  • Apply best practices to prevent data gaps or data interruptions.
  • Apply best practices for security and maintenance with the PI Server.
  • Monitor the PI System.
  • Explore the PI Server Directory Structure.

Where and When?

  • See each class location and dates in the schedule to the right
  • Classes labelled “Virtual Live Classroom”:
    • Are taught virtually over Microsoft Teams.
    • Require you to be in the virtual meeting between 08:00 and 13:00 AWST (UTC+8) each day. You will receive additional exercises and projects that must be completed outside these hours each day, and an instructor will be available to answer questions and assist from 07:00 and until 16:00 AWST (UTC+8). These after-hours exercises and projects should take under 2 hours per day to complete.
  • Classes labelled with a city name:
    • Are taught in-person at our training centers in the stated city.
    • Require you to be present for the whole day on location, 09:00 - 16:00 in the local time zone of the labelled city.
    • Location specific information will be provided via email upon registration
