PI Vision: Migrating PI ProcessBook Displays

About this course

In this course, we will use the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility to migrate PI ProcessBook displays to native PI Vision displays. We will start by reviewing an existing set of PI ProcessBook displays. Then we will learn about how the Migration Utility works along with the configuration options which are available for the migrated PI Vision displays. After using the Migration Utility to first analyze then migrate specified PI ProcessBook displays, we will review the migrated PI Vision displays and the different interaction capabilities that exist in PI Vision. We will also learn how to update the PI Vision displays leveraging advantages of PI Vision and Asset Framework.

By the end of the course, you will be able to...

  • Understand PI ProcessBook and PI Vision functionality
  • Use the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility
  • Understand the configuration and reporting options available in the Migration Utility
  • Validate migration configuration options in PI Vision
  • Use PI Vision and Asset Framework to enhance migrated PI Vision displays

Audience

This course is designed for people who have already used PI ProcessBook and PI Vision. In particular, you rely primarily on PI ProcessBook and have existing PI ProcessBook displays. This course will help you become familiar with the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility and how to enhance PI Vision displays after using this tool.

Level: Intermediate

Study time: 10 hours

Prerequisites

  • During this course, we will be making the following assumptions:
    • Your organization already has a PI System set up
    • You’re familiar with Asset Framework and how to use PI System Exp.lorer.
    • You’re familiar with how to navigate displays and how to leverage AF templates using both PI ProcessBook and PI Vision.
    • You’re interested in using PI Vision with your existing display information
    • You have a computer that can access our YouTube content.
